Mariposa substitute teacher arrested

MARIPOSA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A substitute teacher in Mariposa is accused of having oral sex with a 16-year-old girl.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 25-year-old Timothy Oswald on October 14th. He bailed out of jail the same day and he hasn't been back to work.

The Mariposa County Unified School District says Oswald was filling in for teachers at Mariposa High School and doing student teaching at Woodland Elementary. The school district suspended Oswald the day of the arrest and took him off the sub list.

Investigators say the alleged victim in the case was not a one of Oswald's students and the crime he's accused of did not happen at either of the schools.

Oswald has a court date set for November 23rd.
