Merced Co. DA's son, other teen released due to insufficient probable cause for murder
Two North Valley teenagers have been released after a judge found there wasn't enough evidence to charge them with murder.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two North Valley teenagers have been released after a judge found there wasn't enough evidence to charge them with murder.

Jacob Tellez and Ethan Morse had been accused of killing Bernabed Hernandez, 18, at a house party near Atwater in March 2013.

Merced County sheriff's deputies believe Tellez pulled the trigger and Morse drove the getaway car. They say Tellez later accidentally pocket dialed 911 and could be heard discussing the shooting.

But on Friday, the judge dismissed the case -- saying there was insufficient probable cause.

Ethan Morse is the son of Merced County's district attorney.
