FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One man is dead and another is injured after a fight in Oakhurst Friday night, and now a homicide investigation is underway.

The Madera County Sheriff's Office received a call about a fight shortly after 9:30 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found two men on the ground in the backyard of a home on Canoga Drive, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart.

Steven George Rhoan, 50, of Oakhurst was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man, a 39-year-old from Fresno, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. His name has not been released.

The sheriff's office confirms the men knew each other and both had reportedly been drinking, according to Stuart. It's not clear if any charges will be filed.
