Orange Cove PD employee arrested for grand theft

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Department arrested the man in charge of the evidence room at the Orange Cove Police Department for grand theft.

Marcos Puga, 41, was taken into custody for allegedly stealing money. Puga was employed with the Orange Cove Police Department as a civilian evidence technician.

The sheriff's department says Puga admitted he took $2,940 from an evidence locker and spent about $1,700. Authorities say $1,200 is still missing.
