Police: Man fires shotgun after fight over beer in Southeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A fight over beer turned into a shooting spree in Southeast Fresno on Friday night, according to authorities.

No one was hurt at the home off Cedar and Tulare avenues, but the victims say Stephen Escalante was upset after being asked to pitch in for more alcohol.

Fresno police say he then grabbed a shotgun and shot out the windows and into the side of a truck, and then he went home and wouldn't let an 11-year-old and two 8-year-olds out of the house.

Escalante eventually surrendered to officers. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on weapons and drug charges.
