FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A husband and father who lost his wife and four kids earlier this year talks about the woman who was just arrested for their deaths.

Investigators took Juana Martinez Bejarano into custody Wednesday on felony charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. She's accused of killing a mother and her four children.

The suspect was only in jail for six hours. She posted a $10,000 bond and was released. But we learned she was also wearing an eye patch the day of the deadly crash.

The intersection of Marks and Excelsior avenues is filled with reminders of five lives lost in mid-February when California Highway Patrol officers say an unlicensed driver, who lives in the area, failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

Joe Saucedo was driving his truck behind his wife that day. He says he's still distraught. So he didn't want to show his face on camera.

"It's like a flashback everyday," said Saucedo. "Just seeing the flames, you know. The car. It's the worst feeling ever."

According to an arrest report, Juana Martinez Bejarano had been shopping in Hanford and was returning to Riverdale when she slammed into the family's Ford Expedition. Bejarano told investigators say was going about 57 miles per hour in her minivan. The posted speed limit is 55.

No one answered the door Thursday afternoon at the trailer where she lives. Court records reveal Bejarano claims she does not remember anything about the collision.

Days after the devastating crash Saucedo left the home he shared with his wife and four children. Staying was too hard. Everything there reminded him of the kid's laughter and memories they made.

"Like I have no more motivation anymore," said Saucedo. "It's just, my days are hard. I don't look forward to getting up. It's just nothing is the same without them."

Saucedo is also upset that the suspect has remained free, even though he cannot escape the pain of losing his whole family in a single day.

"If she knew she wasn't supposed to be driving, she could've had her husband driving her or her daughter," said Saucedo. "It was just irresponsible of her."

The suspect is set to be arraigned next month. She could face two to 30 years in prison.
