Double shooting in Southeast Fresno leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A double shooting Saturday night in Southeast Fresno is now a homicide investigation.

Calvin Reese, 25, died after he was shot around 9 p.m. during some type of disagreement.

Fresno police say the problems near Balch and Winery avenues began when Reese and two other men got into an argument. Two people were shot during the confrontation. Reese died a short time later at the hospital.

His family issued a statement, saying in part, "He had a warm smile that would light up a room and a big heart. He loved his daughter and was the best father and uncle."

The other man hit by gunfire remains in serious condition.
