REEDLEY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A double homicide suspect is in jail, and Action News has learned he's the son of the special agent in charge of the California Department of Justice in the Fresno office.

Eloy Romero Jr., 25, was arrested Wednesday in Reedley. He's now being held in the Fresno County Jail. He is accused of killing two men back on May 12.

The case was strange from the get-go when detectives thought the victims died in a car crash. The US Marshall's Office and Reedley police helped Fresno County detectives find him.

"We're glad we located him, obviously, for public safety," said Lt. Mark Padilla. "We'll need to interview him as well as do some follow-up investigation at the location he was arrested. And we'll see where the investigation goes from there."

The victims, George Duarte and Joseph Blunt, were found dead in a crashed car. The California Highway Patrol found them, thinking they were killed in the crash. Investigators later found out both men had been shot.

"Depending on our follow-up investigation then we'll know if there are any other suspects involved and what their level of involvement was as well," said Padilla.

Investigators are processing whatever evidence found inside the home where Romero Jr. was arrested.
