Police said two men entered a home in Southeast Fresno while an elderly man was sleeping on a couch.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police said two men entered a home in Southeast Fresno while an elderly man was sleeping on a couch.

A neighbor called officers after seeing a suspicious black Ford Mustang in the driveway and two men jumping over a backyard fence.

Investigators said the suspects initially tried to force open a sliding glass door, but were unsuccessful. They were able to force their way in through an open bedroom window and began rifling through things inside the home.

Around the same time, the victim's wife returned home from the store.

The suspects got away without taking anything.
