FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 16-year-old boy was arrested after authorities say he threatened to shoot students at a rival school in Visalia.

On Saturday afternoon, Visalia police were notified that a Mt. Whitney High School student had made threats to shoot students at Tulare Western High School. Investigators say the comments, which were posted on social media, stemmed from a football game between the two schools on Friday night in which Mt. Whitney lost.

The Youth Services Unit and Violent Crimes Unit launched an investigation. Officers contacted the student and later arrested and booked him into juvenile hall for making terrorists threats.
