VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Action News has learned a Visalia police officer arrested last year for driving under the influence has been released from her job.

Investigators say Erica Martinez crashed her car and failed a field sobriety test with the California Highway Patrol.

She entered rehab and was ordered not to drink alcohol once she completed treatment, and then returned to her job. But a source tells Action News Martinez recently went on a trip to Las Vegas where she had an encounter with a Las Vegas Metro police officer while intoxicated.

The Visalia Police Department learned of the incident and fired her soon after. But officers would only confirm Martinez is no longer an employee with the department.
