Visalia police seek suspects in double shooting
Police are now tracking down suspects after two men were shot in Visalia Thursday night.

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are now tracking down suspects after two men were shot in Visalia.

The two men are recovering after being shot at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of South Central Street around 11 p.m. Thursday.

"We do know that the suspects did approach on foot toward the victims who were, I believe, sitting near a vehicle in the car port at the apartment complex; that's where the shooting took place," said Damon Maurice with the Visalia Police Department.

But Visalia police don't know how many suspects or how many guns were used. Investigators went back to the area Friday to try to talk with witnesses. Police say this shooting is gang-related.

"That particular area does have a problem with gangs, and we've reached out to our gang officers to try to track down who did this," said Maurice.

One of the victims was found at the apartment complex. The other victim was able to run away after being shot and found at a 7-Eleven on Mooney Boulevard about a block away.

"The victims are in the hospital at this time in stable condition, and our investigators are trying to talk to them," said Maurice.

The victims' interviews may hold the key to solving this case.
