SOUNDVIEW, N.Y. -- On Sunday night, police took to the streets, announcing over a loudspeaker and handing out flyers to find a man they are looking for. For the first time, Eyewitness News is getting a look at the person police say killed a Bronx resident in the subway.

The suspect is seen casually smoking a cigarette outside a store. Police say he pushed 61-year-old Wai Kuen Kwok onto the tracks, directly onto the path of the D train, right in front of the victim's wife.

Only Eyewitness News contained video of the scene moments after the incident happened. You can see the wife of the victim needing help from paramedics after witnessing her husband die. You can also see some of the subway-goers running from the station directly after Kwok died, with the suspect nowhere in sight. Passengers on that train initially didn't know what happened until they heard employees talking.

"The MTA workers, between them saying 'I can't believe someone got pushed in front of the train' and they were really panicking," said eyewitness Anthony Atkinson.

Police won't say what led up to the suspect pushing the victim. Subway riders tell Eyewitness News it could have been over an attempted cell phone robbery, however police have not confirmed those details.

Police say at least 2 cars barreled over Kwok, killing him instantly, his wife standing by helplessly.

There have been three other incidents in recent years that involved a person being pushed onto the tracks.

In April 2013, a train ran over a man desperately clawing at a Manhattan subway platform after being pushed onto the tracks by a homeless suspect with whom he'd been arguing.

In December 2012, another homeless man was arrested for pushing a Queens straphanger in front of a Times Square train that fatally crushed him.

And later the same month, a mumbling woman pushed a man to his death in front of a subway train in Queens.
