CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Horse therapy for kids got a big boost Saturday from a group of charitable ladies.

When Bandit walks in circles, he does it with purpose. The good-natured horse carries children with disabilities as part of their treatment at the Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch.

"You just see all the great they're doing for children here in the community," PINC president Diane Coderniz said.

The ranch caught the attention of the ladies at PINC. They work to boost other charities benefiting women and children, and for the kids here, the benefits are clear.

Researchers say riding horses can help with physical and speech development in kids with muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, PTSD, and several other conditions.

It's a passion project for Guy Adams, who knew PINC was here to make a donation. But the amount came as a shock.

"We were really excited to be able to support them this year to provide the money that hopefully they can use to expand their programs and keep things going," Coderniz said.

"We just want to change lives one ride at a time, mind, body and soul - so this means a bunch," Adams said.

Adams says the money will help them pay for a full-time employee, cover the arena so they can stay open all winter and build a sensory trail for kids trotting towards better lives.
