Local charities prepare Thanksgiving meals for those in need

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Local non-profit are getting to feed the hungry, but organizations like the Poverello House are in need of donations.

Non-profits are working around the clock to get ready to feed the hungry this Thanksgiving. Many, though, still need more donations from the community. At the Poverello House, volunteers are busy preparing meals for 15-hundred of Fresno's homeless. Last week the non-profit started its annual turkey drive, but have found there's less donations compared to this time last year.

The turkeys don't just feed the homeless. Poverello House feeds an extra 800 people on Thanksgiving Day.
