ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Los Angeles Angels have recalled left-hander Adam Wilk from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Wilk joined the team before its series finale at Texas on Wednesday afternoon.

To make room on the roster, Los Angeles sent Drew Rucinski to Triple-A a day after his first major league start. Rucinski allowed four runs and walked four in 2 2/3 innings in an 8-2 loss to the Rangers.

Wilk, an Anaheim native, was available in the bullpen and looking for his first big league appearance since 2012 with Detroit. He threw five shutout innings in his lone start for Salt Lake.
