2 Big Rigs crash on HWY 99 near Merced

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities in the North Valley say rain and speed may be to blame for an overnight crash between two semi trucks.

The incident happened a little before 1 a.m. Thursday on Highway 99 near Le Grand Road in Merced County. CHP officials say it was raining at the time, and believe both drivers were going too fast for the conditions.

One truck ended up off the road. Crews had to close one lane of the highway to get the second vehicle off to the side. No injuries were reported.
