Retired Hanford police officer arrested, charged with sexual assault

A former Hanford Police lieutenant has been arrested and charged with sexual assault.

56-year-old George Hernandez retired from Hanford PD in 2017 after working with the department for 28 years, police say.

He has been charged with sexual penetration, sexual battery, and false imprisonment, according to court records.
