Many businesses will spend this Veterans Day offering deals and freebies as a way to salute those who serve.

On Tuesday, here are some of the freebies being offered:

California Pizza Kitchen is offering a free entree from a special Veterans Day menu to all active and retired military members.

Friendly's, Applebee's, and Hooters will also serve a free meal all day for vets and active duty members. Denny's will do the same from 5 a.m. until noon.

Outback Steakhouse is giving a free bloomin' onion and a beverage on Veterans Day while Cracker Barrel is giving a free dessert.

Great Clips is offering vets a free haircut through the end of the year. They will also give anyone who stops in on Veterans Day a free haircut card to give to a veteran.

Golden Corral will once again offer their yearly free buffet meal to anyone who has served or is currently serving. The meal is planned for Monday, Nov. 17 from 5-9 p.m.

Baskin Robbins has also created a first class camouflage ice cream as the flavor of the month, 10 cents from each sold will benefit the United Service Organizations (USO) across the country.

Retailers like Home Depot, Harris Teeter, JC Penny and Dell are also among the dozens offering special discounts on Veterans Day

And, many of these deals for military members are also offered year-round. You can find them in a new free app called Discount Soldier.

"You're going to have over 100,000 businesses offer military discounts on Veterans Day," said Nick McDuffie, co-creator of the app.

"It has by far one of the largest Veterans Day lists across the country," explained McDuffie. "But, you can use it anytime during the year for normal military discount offers."
