LOS ANGELES

PETA said displaying butchery as fashion is offensive, accusing Lady Gaga of simply trying to keep herself in the spotlight.

Gaga said her outfit was not meant to disrespect vegans or vegetarians, and that it was a protest against the erosion of people's rights.

She said if people don't stand up for themselves, they won't have any more rights than the meat on their bones.
