Thursday's hearing was hastily scheduled less than two hours ago. Both Garridos are expected to plead guilty as part of a plea deal.
Under the proposed agreement, Phillip Garrido will spend the rest of his life in prison, while Nancy Garrido will likely serve 31 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
The Garridos have previously confessed to abducting Dugard in 1991 when she was 11 and holding her captive for 18 years.
