Two professional soccer teams will take to the field in Fresno in February. Fresno Fuego General Manager Jeremy Schultz announced Wednesday morning, four-time MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy will play two-time MLS Cup Champion San Jose Earthquakes at Chukchansi Park on Saturday, February 15.

Schultz called the game a historic event for Downtown Fresno. He says the game of soccer is growing in popularity, especially with the World Cup. He hopes the community will come out and fill the stadium.

"We're ecstatic to bring two premier MLS franchises to Fresno for an exhibition," stated Schultz. "For fans to see this caliber of talent at Chukchansi Park is really a special experience and will give Central California fans an opportunity to see a MLS match in their backyard."

The preseason exhibition match will mark the first time two MLS franchises will play each other in the city of Fresno.

A 4:00 p.m. match between the Fresno Fuego and Earthquakes reserve team will precede the 7:00 p.m. Central California Cup between the Galaxy and Earthquakes. Tickets purchased for the Cup will grant access to the 4:00 p.m. match. Chukchansi Park gates will open at 3:00 p.m.
