Fresno State hosts 45th annual Chicano Youth Coordinator
Future leaders of the Central Valley may get their motivation Saturday. Or, they might just dance a little.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Future leaders of the Central Valley may get their motivation Saturday. Or, they might just dance a little.

Folklorico lessons are one piece of the puzzle for some of the 800 kids at the Chicano Youth Conference Saturday at Fresno State.

The 45th annual conference focused on providing young people with the tools to lift themselves up through education and career opportunities and lift their communities at the same time.

Chicano Youth Conference Coordinator, Walter Ramirez said,"The youth people need to be reminded, that we can be reminded that there's still a lot of people that we support each other out there, despite any negativity that might be seen on social media. There's still people with good hearts that want to create change and that's what this is about."

Kids came from the entire Central Valley from Bakersfield to Fresno, to Modesto and even Salinas.
