FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A new financial services location aimed at expanding access for Valley students and families has opened near Fresno State.
Golden 1 Credit Union recently celebrated the opening of its newest branch at Campus Pointe at Fresno State with a ribbon-cutting event.
The new location features branding in partnership with Fresno State's athletics department. In addition to offering traditional banking services, the branch includes dedicated spaces for workshops and classes focused on financial education.
Officials said the goal is to help community members build skills in managing their finances and planning for the future.
"The things that you need to learn to live a thriving financial life are not always taught," said Erica Taylor of Golden 1 Credit Union. "We don't always pick them up, you don't get them from your parents or you may not learn them in school."
The credit union provides information on savings plans, investments and retirement options.
Anyone living or working in California is eligible to become a member, according to the credit union.
