Officials say workers discovered the body south of Jensen Avenue between Minnewawa and Clovis Avenues around 9:45 am and called the authorities.
Tony Botti, the spokesperson for the sheriff's office, says the investigation is in its preliminary stages. On Friday, investigators identified the victim as Anthony Padilla, 39, of Fresno.
Detectives were waiting for the coroner to arrive to examine the body.
The victim's identity hasn't been released.
