Family reunited with photo album found in floodwaters
Social media helped reunite a family with a photo album found floating in floodwaters.

HOUSTON, Texas -- An album of priceless family photos found in the floodwaters near Buffalo Bayou has been reunited with its owner.

Lauren Thompson Miller found the personal treasure last week and was struck by the personal contents of the album, which contained handwritten notes and pictures more than two decades old.

"This is what really got me: 'Our beautiful baby, Natalie claire.' In 1994, you didn't have a digital copy of your photos," Miller said.

Facebook helped find Margaret Cheiner, baby Natalie's mom. Cheiner said she never thought she would see the photos again.

The ink has run and the pages are stained, but the photo album full of memories is now marked with a permanent reminder of how they were returned.
