Paso Robles-based brewery opening new tap room in northeast Fresno

The 6,000-square foot indoor section features a stage for live music along with an area for foosball tables and shuffleboard.
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Following months of renovations and delays brought on by COVID-19, the owners of BarrelHouse Brewing Co. are just about ready to open to the public.

"We're going to be opening Black Friday if everything goes per plan and then have a grand opening maybe next summer or next spring, once we're able to have 100% percent indoor capacity," says owner Jason Carvalho.

Owners of the Paso Robles-based brewery describe BarrelHouse as a spot for families to visit and enjoy a unique flavored craft beer.

BarrelHouse does not have a kitchen or serve its own food so guests are encouraged to bring in outside meals - or you can use your phone to order from nearby restaurant The Hanger.

"We're partnering with Hanger, who's right out our back door and so is their kitchen. Hanger will bring food right to your table. You'll complete the transaction on your phone and they'll bring it to you in less than 10 minutes. However, you can also bring in food from one of our amazing neighbors," says Carvalho.

BarrelHouse takes over the former Wavelengths Surf Shop building next door to Teazer World Tea Market.

The entire face of the building will have giant roll-up doors and a large outdoor patio area.

The 6,000-square foot indoor section features a stage for live music along with an area for foosball tables and shuffleboard.

"We have expansive places people can spread out. You're not in a confined area. Whether it's COVID or not people are going to be spread out. People will be able to have their own conversations and you're not on top of each other. You can have your own space," says Carvalho.

This location is BarrelHouse's second in the Valley after Visalia.

Owners say they decided on River Park after looking at Fresno and Clovis the last few years

"We saw this space was available and thought that's the spot. It's got plenty of parking, it's safe, it's family-friendly which is what we're all about," says Carvalho.

The owners of BarrelHouse are originally from Lemoore.
