D23 recap: From movies to theme park rides, here's everything announced at Disney fan event

A-list stars are headed to the big and small screens in Marvel, Star Wars and Disney projects. ABC News' Ginger Zee reports from D23 as stars share major announcements.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- From newly announced movies to rides and lands under construction at Disney parks around the world, we brought you all the live updates from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
This gathering of official Disney fan club members took place at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center in Anaheim, California from Aug. 14 through Aug. 16.
The Honda Center was home to the Disney Entertainment Showcase Friday night, the Disney Experiences Showcase Saturday night and the Disney Legends Award Ceremony Sunday afternoon.

Josh D'Amaro talks about love for Disney in first D23 as CEO
Josh D'Amaro talked about his love of Disney during his first D23 as CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
Leading into a personal story about a family trip to Walt Disney World, he said, "I believe that in order to lead the company, you have to know what it feels like to be a fan. And I do."
D'Amaro told the crowd that the company makes "the world more hopeful, more magical than it ever could be."
The Disney veteran became CEO in March 2026. The previous CEO, Bob Iger, will be honored as a Disney Legend during the award ceremony on Sunday.

'Zootopia 2' stars say they're 'Disney superfans'
The stars of the box office hit "Zootopia 2" pumped up the crowd at the Disney Entertainment Showcase.
Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays optimistic rabbit Judy Hopps, and Ke Huy Quan, who plays pit viper Gary De'Snake, were all smiles and enthusiastic waves to the crowd as the showcase hosts proudly shouted, "We are Disney superfans!"

'Dancing With The Stars' pros dazzle during showcase opener
The Disney Entertainment Showcase opened with a dazzling performance by "Dancing With The Stars" pros and additional dancers.
The high energy kickoff took place before showcase hosts Ke Huy Quan and Ginnifer Goodwin were introduced.
