FRESNO, Calif. -- The stretch run for California's senate election included a Valley visit Sunday.
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez stopped by a pair of Sikh temples in Selma and Fresno, emphasizing her shared values with the faithful. Her message there and in Mendota to focused mostly on the Valley's water needs.
"We have not invested in water infrastructure since the 1960s, so we need to build better transferring systems, we need to get allocation out," Sanchez said. "When the water comes, we need to have storage."
Sanchez said building new water infrastructure could also help with the unemployment problems in some areas of the Valley.
