1 dead after car crashes into building in Downtown Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is dead after a car crashed into a building in Downtown Fresno on Thursday.

It happened before 7:30 am on Ventura and R.

Police say a 34-year-old woman was going west on Ventura at R Street when she drove into the intersection and crashed into the Factory 41 building.

The woman and her passenger were both rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where the 34-year-old driver died.

The passenger is expected to be okay.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The woman has not been identified.
