10 people injured, including minors, in 3-car DUI crash in east central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- 10 people, including minors, were taken to the hospital following a DUI crash in east central Fresno.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Olive and Maple.

Fresno Police say they attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver took off.

After a brief chase, the driver crashed at the intersection. Three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Now, the driver will face multiple charges.

"Currently, the suspect is in custody for felony warrants, felony evading, as well as nine counts of DUI at this time," Fresno Police Lieutenant Michael Pierce said. "The suspect is at the hospital being treated and once he is cleared, he will be booked into jail."

10 people were taken to the hospital and all are expected to recover.

Crews are now working to clear debris in the area.
