Maya Cinemas suddenly closes at Campus Pointe, Galaxy Theatres to take over

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Maya Cinemas by Fresno State has closed.
Campus Pointe says it shut down as it prepares to transition to Galaxy Theatres.
Maya Cinemas opened up on Campus Pointe Drive back in 2015.
It's been a staple for students since then.
Friday, the theater unexpectedly closed, along with its Salinas location earlier in the week.
Galaxy Theatres will be the new operator of the Campus Pointe spot.
The company was formed in 1998 in Porterville, with locations in that city, the Tulare Outlets, and throughout the state and country.
