2-year-old dies after falling into pool and drowning in Dinuba, police say

DINUBA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A toddler has died after falling into a swimming pool and drowning in Dinuba, police say.

Authorities responded to an area of Alta Avenue north of Avenue 408 around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

When officials arrived, they found a 2-year-old unresponsive after drowning in a swimming pool.

First responders provided CPR and aid to the child, who was later taken to the hospital, where they died.

Dinuba Police say the cause of the child's death was drowning.

The incident remains under investigation.
