3 killed in crash in Tulare County involving motorcycles, CHP says

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Three people are dead following a crash in Tulare County on Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol says it happened on Highway 198 east of Mehrten Drive.

Officers say a 25-year-old man was driving a Jeep Cherokee west on the highway when he suddenly made a U-turn into oncoming traffic.

Two motorcyclists, who officers say were 61 and 35, crashed into the side of the Jeep.

Both men were thrown from their motorcycle because of the impact.

All three drivers were declared dead at the scene.

Officers are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The men have not been identified.
