FX has released the trailer for "American Horror Story: 13," the highly anticipated 13th installment of Ryan Murphy's hit horror anthology, with glimpses of Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and more reprising fan favorite roles from across the series.

Since its launch in 2011, the series has garnered more than 100 Emmy nominations and created a base of dedicated fans over its previous 12 seasons. Now, "AHS: 13" is bringing characters from across the series into one season that FX promises "will do justice to everyone's most feared number."

"13 stands for instability, chaos," says John Waters in the trailer.

"He's really riding that 13 thing extra hard. Isn't he?" Billie Lourd's Winter Anderson says to Peters' Kai Anderson. The characters return from Season 7, "Cult."

When it comes to the plot of this season, FX also teases that previous seasons have taken place in "a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself. Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13, and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise."

Additional stars include Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Paul Anthony Kelly, Mena Suvari and John Carroll Lynch.

We catch a couple glimpses of Kelly in the "AHS: 13" trailer sporting a blonde cut, completely different from the look he rose to stardom for, playing John F. Kennedy Jr. in FX's "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette."

Kelly told On The Red Carpet, "Being a part of the 'Horror Story' family is also a dream come true and totally different from what I know in this ('Love Story'), so it's fun to stretch and flex my muscles in a totally different way."

The series is created and produced by Murphy and Brad Falchuk. It's also executive produced by Ned Martel and Charlie Carver.

"American Horror Story: 13" premieres Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of FX, Hulu and this ABC station.
