Bulldog Breakdown: 2 Bulldogs named to preseason watchlists

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two Bulldogs are being recognized in the preseason after being named to watchlists for the nation's top players.

Senior defensive back Simeon Harris has been added to the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Award, given to college football's best defensive player of the year.

Last season, Simeon was second on the team in tackles and ranked 7th in the nation for interceptions.

Senior defensive lineman DJ Lafitte named to the Outland Trophy watch list, the award given to the nation's top interior lineman.

Simeon - a natural leader. Very vocal, understands football, very aware of his surroundings and can help everyone in the backend. With DJ, his evolution while he's been here. I knew DJ before I got to fresno... and the young man that you see now..." Fresno State Football head coach Matt Entz said. "Young men have an opportunity to grow up in programs like ours where it's all about the development it's all about the growth."

Both Simeon and DJ were also named to the Pac-12's preseason Impact Players list.
