Crunch Fitness set to open location in north Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Crunch Fitness is coming to Fresno.

The national gym chain is taking over the vacant building that was once home to Big Lots and Babies "R" Us off Blackstone and Pinedale Avenue.

The fitness center is expected to open this winter, and managers say this location will be a little different.

The Crunch 3.0 design features 60,000 square feet on group fitness studios, functional training areas with turf, more training equipment and plenty of room to work out.

"So this is going to be a 3.0 version," says Jalen Ellington. "This is one of our bigger locations as well. We have over 500 locations nationwide."

Crunch Fitness currently has one other gym in Clovis at Shaw and Minnewawa.
