California Highway Patrol has a warning for parents after officers discovered drugs that look like children's vitamins. The tablets tested positive for methamphetamine.

TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. -- Law enforcement officers made a shocking discovery in Northern California's Trinity County.

California Highway Patrol officers discovered what look like children's vitamins -- but they're actually illegal drugs.

According to CHP, the drugs tested positive for methamphetamine. CHP Trinity River shared a photo of the drug tablets, which are brightly-colored and shaped like cartoon characters.

CHP is reminding parents to teach their children to never eat unfamiliar vitamins or candy, and to keep all medications and other substances secured and out of the reach of children.
