FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A driver was killed in a crash late Monday morning on Gettysburg Avenue in northeast Fresno, according to Fresno police.
A cross now stands along Gettysburg Avenue, marking the site of the collision. Broken glass remained scattered across parts of the roadway following the crash.
Police said a white Ford F-150 rear-ended a black car. The driver of the black car died in the collision.
Video obtained by ABC30 shows the black vehicle spinning out of control after the impact and crashing into the back of a parked Kia. The video shows smoke coming from the black sedan's tires as the driver appears to lose control.
In the aftermath, the parked Kia had been pushed several feet forward, while the Ford F-150 sustained severe front-end damage and came to rest in the middle of the street.
Neighbor Martin Reyes said he woke up to the sound of the crash.
"I had just woken up and it's not something you want to start your day with," Reyes said.
Reyes said he rushed outside after learning someone had crashed.
"My neighbor ended up telling me someone just crashed, there's someone in the car and we just started helping slowly," Reyes said.
Cellphone video captured first responders working at the scene.
The driver of the Ford F-150 was taken to a hospital. Investigators said a third vehicle was also damaged. Police said speed was a factor in the deadly collision.
Reyes said neighbors believed the Ford was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.
"That day, honestly, we thought that guy was hauling. He was going pretty fast cause how was he going to brake all the way from over there and we heard the screeches," Reyes said.
Neighbors told Action News they have seen vehicles speeding along Gettysburg Avenue despite the posted speed limit.
The crash has raised safety concerns among nearby residents.
"It just gets you thinking about safety. Like, are you even safe around your own house?" Reyes said.
