Fast-growing fire spreads to 1000 acres near Kern, Kings County lines, CAL FIRE says

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- CAL FIRE says crews are battling a fast-growing fire near the Kern and Kings County lines between Interstate 5 and Highway 33.

The fire has already reached 1000 acres.

Smoke can be seen rising in the area.

No structures appear to be threatened but residents are urged to avoid the area.
