FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firebaugh native and reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen will have his jersey retired by the University of Wyoming.

Allen will return to Laramie, Wyoming, on November 22 for the ceremony. It will be the home finale for the Cowboys against the University of Nevada.

Allen's jersey retirement will be the first in the program's history. His No. 15 is also the only number retired at Firebaugh High School.

He played at Wyoming from 2015-2017 and accumulated over 5,000 yards of offense and All-Mountain West honors.

The Firebaugh native is gearing up for the Buffalo Bills' season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Allen led the Bills to the AFC Championship Game last season.
