Fresno County deputy patrol vehicle and FAX bus involved in crash in Downtown Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are on the scene of a crash involving a FAX bus and a Fresno County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle off M and Stanislaus streets in Downtown Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, two deputies were parked at the Fresno Traffic Court when they saw a white sedan speeding in the opposite direction on a one-way street.
The deputies followed the sedan and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The white vehicle did not stop, and at the intersection of M and Stanislaus, the patrol vehicle collided with the FAX bus.
Seven people on the bus suffered minor injuries, including the bus driver.
One deputy suffered minor lacerations and was taken to the hospital.
The sedan managed to escape. Law enforcement is reviewing surveillance footage in the area to help locate and identify the suspect.
Those traveling in the area are asked to find an alternative route as the intersection will be closed for a couple of hours.
