Gun Fire burns 10 acres near Millerton Lake

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are battling a wildfire that broke out Sunday near Sky Harbour Road and Millerton Road, close to Millerton Lake in Fresno County. The fire has burned approximately 10 acres and remains uncontained as of 11:30 a.m., according to CAL FIRE.

Dubbed the Gun Fire, the incident was first reported around 11 a.m., with smoke visible on the Owens Mountain camera.

CAL FIRE officials say the fire has the potential to grow to 50 acres. No structures are currently threatened.

The fire is burning in an area of annual grass and oak woodland.

Aircraft and ground crews from the CAL FIRE Fresno-Kings Unit are working to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
