Live explosives found at Visalia home, police say

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A probation search led to the discovery of live explosives at a home in Visalia.

Police say an officer was searching the room of 37-year-old Ruben Zayas, who is currently on probation.

That's when authorities uncovered an item resembling a grenade.

The Bomb Unit responded and safely removed the device.

It was later confirmed to be a live explosive.

Zayas was arrested and booked into jail.
