Livingston man arrested after attempted murder-suicide, police say

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities have arrested the Livingston man accused of shooting and killing the mother of his child before turning the gun on himself.

The shooting happened Sunday, April 12, at an apartment complex on Olive Avenue.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the suspected gunman, Jose Pantaleon-Ramirez, was airlifted to the hospital.

Pantaleon-Ramirez was arrested shortly after his release from the hospital on Monday.

He was booked into the Merced County Jail for murder.
