Man hit by vehicle in east central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in east central Fresno.

It happened before midnight Wednesday on Chestnut and Turner.

Police say the driver called it in and remained at the scene.

The victim was a man in his 30's who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

There is no word on his condition at this time.

The area of Chestnut and Turner was closed for several hours.

Police are investigating why the man was in the roadway.
