Man dies after turning gun on himself after shooting at Visalia police officers

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man who shot at Visalia police officers before turning the gun on himself has died.

Officers were called to a home on Atwood Street and Hurley Avenue around 2:50 pm Sunday for a report of a man with a gun.

Police say when officers arrived, they were confronted by the man who immediately opened fire at them. The man then shot himself.

He was taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where he died.

No officers shot at the man or were hurt.

The man has not been identified.
