Man shot during carjacking in central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are searching for the armed suspects who shot a man during a carjacking in central Fresno.

It happened on Griffith Way between Channing and Teilman avenues just after 8 pm Sunday.

Officers say two men were in the car when they were approached by two suspects dressed in all black.

They pulled the driver and a passenger out of a Lexus.

Police say a 34-year-old man was shot during the incident.

He was rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery in critical condition.

The suspects drove the Lexus to Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Teilman Avenue.

That's where the California Highway Patrol found the abandoned vehicle.

Officials are currently searching for the armed suspects involved.
