New Mendota police chief officially sworn in

MENDOTA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A new chief is now leading the Mendota Police Department.

On Wednesday, Interim Chief Frank Renteria was sworn in as Mendota's top cop.

Chief Renteria is a Mendota native and has served in nearly every position in the department for the last 17 years.

The department says he brings a diversified set of law enforcement skills and experience, and has a "contagious passion and enthusiasm for the community".
