Person killed in a deputy-involved shooting in Madera County, officials say

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A person is dead after a deputy-involved shooting in Madera County Friday evening, authorities say.

The shooting happened off Avenue 12 west of Madera Ranchos.

According to officials, the deputy involved is okay.

No other information about the person killed or what led up to the shooting has been released.

Avenue 12 will be closed between Road 34 1/2 and Road 35 for several hours.
